1. What was the last book you read or listened to (if you do not read books what, was the last magazine/newspaper you read?)
Evgeny Zamyatin – ”We”.

2. What is the best piece of music you have ever listened to?
Stravinsky, ”Rite of Spring”.

3. Which record / piece of music / song would you like everyone to listen to?
What we play in our next concert.

4. What is your favorite hobby?
Georg Solti had a suggestion for young musicians: ”Keep music as hobby in your life, don’t let it to become an occupation”. I try to follow these words.

5. What is your favorite movie (or television series)?
Hard to point out one movie, but for series it would be ”House MD”.

6. What or who is your greatest source of inspiration, for example, in the field of music?
In the field of music there are two. Jascha Heifetz as an example of incredible stunning talent, one can recognize his playing with first couple of notes and then be just conquered until the end of piece. Mariss Jansons as an example of self-made person, hardworking the whole life. And also as representative of intellectual approach in the musicianship.

7. What has been your most memorable moment with the Kymi Sinfonietta?
Performance of Sibelius 5th Symphony on 20 years anniversary concert. After 10 years of experience in the orchestra I’ve played this masterpiece first time. There’s always a chance for surprise!

8. What is your biggest dream?
Be in good physical and mental shape as long as possible to track, how the world changes.

9. If you could meet one person from history, who would it be?
Winston Churchill.

10. What is your favorite food?
Kebab.

11. What was your dream job when you were a child?
To play in Grand Philharmonic hall of Saint-Petersburg. Came true in 2002.

12. What is your favorite place in the world?
Grand Philharmonic hall in Saint-Petersburg. ”Best place in the world” according to an outstanding musicologist I. Sollertinsky.

13. What is your secret skill?
If I open it, it’s not a secret any more 🙂

14. What skill would you like to learn?
There are many of them. My priority would be to improve understanding of people. Non-verbal communication. Music is one of possible ways of it.

 15. What would you like to say to the readers of this blog?
For present moment – wouldn’t be original. #Stayhome, #stayhealthy

6. Mikä on suurin innoittajasi / inspiraation lähteesi esimerkiksi musiikin saralla?
Musiikin saralla on niitä on kaksi. Jascha Heifetz on esimerkki uskomattomasta lahjakkuudesta, hänen soittonsa tunnistaa ensimmäisestä muutamasta sävelestä ja vaikuttavuus kestää teoksen loppuun saakka. Mariss Jansons on esimerkki itse uransa luoneesta, koko elämänsä paljon työtä tehneestä henkilöstä. Hän myös edustaa älyllistä lähestymistapaa muusikkoudessa.

7. Mikä on ikimuistoisin hetkesi Kymi Sinfoniettan kanssa?
Sibeliuksen viidennen sinfonian esitys 20-vuotisjuhlakonsertissa. Minulla kokemusta Kymi Sinfoniettasta kymmeneneltä vuodelta ja olin mukana esittämässä tätä mestariteosta nyt aivan ensimmäistä kertaa. Aina on mahdollisuus yllättyä!

8. Mikä on suurin unelmasi?
Olla fyysisesti ja henkisesti hyvässä kunnossa ja pysyä mukana maailman muutoksessa niin pitkään kuin mahdollista.

9. Kenet historiallisen henkilön haluaisit tavata, jos se olisi mahdollista?
Winston Churchill.

10. Mikä on lempiruokasi?
Kebab.

11. Mikä oli lapsuuden haaveesi/haaveammattisi?
Pietarin Filharmonian Suuressa salissa soittaminen. Se toteutui vuonna 2002.

12. Mikä on lempipaikkasi maailmassa?
Pietarin Filharmonian Suuri sali Pietarissa. “Paras paikka maailmassa”, sanoo upea musiikkitieteilijä I. Sollertinsky.

13. Mikä on salainen taitosi?
Jos kerron, se ei ole enää salaisuus.

14. Minkä taidon haluaisit oppia?
Niitä on monia. Ensisijaisena tavoitteena on oppia ymmärtämään ihmisiä paremmin. Ei-sanallinen kommunikaatio. Musiikki on yksi keino siihen.

15. Mitä haluat sanoa tämän blogin lukijoille?
